Publication Ethics for the International Journal of Student Performance and Educational Research
The International Journal of Student Performance and Educational Research is committed to upholding the highest ethical standards in publishing. To maintain integrity, transparency, and trust in the scholarly community, we adhere to the following principles:
1. Authors’ Responsibilities:
- Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their work is original and free from plagiarism. Proper citation of others’ work is mandatory. Any form of plagiarism will result in immediate rejection of the manuscript.
- Authorship: All individuals who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the research should be listed as authors. Those who do not meet the authorship criteria should be acknowledged.
- Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial, personal, or professional conflicts of interest that could influence the research or its interpretation.
- Ethical Approval: Research involving human participants must have appropriate ethical approval. Authors should state this in their manuscripts.
2. Reviewers’ Responsibilities:
- Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat manuscripts as confidential documents and not share or discuss them outside the review process.
- Impartiality: Reviews should be conducted objectively and based solely on the manuscript’s merits. Reviewers must avoid bias and declare any potential conflicts of interest.
- Constructive Feedback: Reviewers are encouraged to provide constructive and respectful feedback to assist authors in improving their manuscripts.
3. Editors’ Responsibilities:
- Fairness and Impartiality: Editors are responsible for making publication decisions based on the quality and relevance of the manuscript, without any influence from external factors.
- Transparency: Editors should ensure a transparent and efficient review process, communicating clearly with authors and reviewers throughout.
- Handling Ethical Complaints: Editors are obliged to investigate any allegations of misconduct or ethical breaches related to submissions or published articles.
4. Publishing Ethics:
- Retractions and Corrections: If serious errors are discovered in published works, the journal will issue corrections or retractions as necessary to maintain the integrity of the literature.
- Duplicate Publication: Authors must not submit the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously or publish the same research in multiple venues without proper citation.
5. Plagiarism Detection:
- The journal employs plagiarism detection software to screen submissions for originality. Manuscripts that exhibit significant overlap with existing works will be rejected or returned for revision.
6. Compliance with Ethical Standards:
- The journal adheres to established ethical guidelines in scholarly publishing, including those set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). This ensures that all parties involved in the publication process are held to high ethical standards.
7. Continuous Improvement:
- The journal encourages ongoing discussions about publication ethics and aims to continuously improve practices in line with the evolving landscape of academic publishing.
By adhering to these publication ethics, the International Journal of Student Performance and Educational Research strives to foster a culture of integrity, accountability, and respect in academic research and publishing.
