GREEN MARKETING STRATEGIES AND SALES PERFORMANCE OF FRUIT DEALERS IN UYO METROPOLIS, AKWA IBOM STATE, NIGERIA
Abstract
The study examined the effect of strategic alliance strategy on foreign trade entry among SMEs in Akwa Ibom State. Descriptive survey design method was adopted for the study. The study was conducted in Akwa Ibom State. The population of the study comprised 1,992 registered SMEs in Akwa Ibom State as record by Corporate Affairs Commission and National Survey of MSMEs, 2023. However, purposive and ratio sampling technique were used. 15% (55) of the SMEs in Akwa Ibom State that have allied with foreign firms were used for the study. The primary data used for the study were sourced from administration of structured questionnaire to the owners or manager of SMEs. The objectives were analyzed with descriptive statistics and hypotheses were tested using multiple linear regression model. The result revealed that, there is significant effect of equity-based alliance and technology alliance on foreign trade entry among SMEs in Akwa Ibom State. However, human resource alliance does not have any significant effect on foreign trade entry among SMEs in Akwa Ibom State. In conclusion, strategic alliance strategy has a significant effect on foreign trade entry among SMEs in Akwa Ibom State. The researcher recommended that since, there is a significant effect of equity-based alliance on foreign trade entry, small and medium scale firms should clearly identify their core competencies from the non-core functions and equity. This will help them to align strategically to avoid waste of equity resources
