Abstract

This study investigates the integration of entrepreneurship education into Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as a strategy for achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This study was guided by the following objectives; examine the impact of entrepreneurship education on vocational students’ entrepreneurial intentions, Assess the role of entrepreneurship education in achieving SDGs, Evaluate the effectiveness of integrating entrepreneurship education into TVET, and to Identify challenges affecting integration. In order to achieve this, Descriptive research design was used to gather data for the study with the use of selfstructured questionnaire with 5 - point Likert scale in addition to library research were applied in data collection. The two hypotheses generated were analysed using chi-square statistical tool at 5% level of significance. The population for the study comprises of two hundred and fifty (250) respondents from five tertiary institutions from the study area who were randomly selected and used as the representatives of the entire population for the study. Data collected were analysed using Chi-square and presented in frequency tables and percentages. Findings revealed that entrepreneurship education significantly enhances entrepreneurial intention, innovation capacity, skills acquisition, sustainable livelihood opportunities and employability among vocational students. The study concludes that integrating entrepreneurship education into vocational training contributes to poverty reduction, job creation, and inclusive economic growth. Based on the findings from the study, the study recommends curriculum restructuring, increased funding, and experiential learning models to strengthen entrepreneurship integration in vocational education.
