Abstract

This study examined the impact of digital learning tools on the academic performance of secondary school students in Nigeria. The research adopted a descriptive survey design, targeting 300 students across three secondary schools in Lagos State. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire titled Digital Learning Tools and Academic Performance Questionnaire (DLTAPQ), and analyzed using descriptive statistics for research questions and t-test for hypotheses at a 0.05 significance level. Findings revealed that digital learning tools positively influenced students’ comprehension, engagement, and overall academic performance. Research questions indicated that students frequently used digital learning tools, perceived them as effective, and experienced enhanced learning outcomes. Hypotheses testing showed significant differences in performance between students using digital tools and those who did not. The study concluded that integrating digital tools into teaching significantly enhances academic performance. Recommendations include government provision of digital resources, teacher training in digital pedagogy, and incorporation of e-learning platforms into curricula to optimize learning outcomes
