BUSINESS EDUCATION LECTURERS’ COMPENSATION AND QUALITYPROGRAMME IN UNIVERSITIES IN KWARA STATE

The study examined Business Education lecturers’ compensation and quality programme in Universities in Kwara State. To achieve the purpose of the study, three research questions were posed to guide the study. The study adopted a survey research design. The population for the study was 33 Business Education lecturers from universities in Kwara State, Nigeria. Census population was used. A 30 item validated research instrument was used made at four points rating scale. Questionnaire titled “Business Education Lecturers’ Compensation and Quality Programme Questionnaire” (BELCQPQ) was adopted for data collection. The instrument was face and content validated by three research experts. A reliability coefficient of 0.79 was achieved for the instrument using Cronbach Alpha reliability after a pilot test. The data were analyzed using mean and standard deviation. Findings revealed that salary, promotion and health service package facilitate quality of Business Education Programme in Universities in Kwara State, Nigeria. Based on the findings of the study, it was recommended amongst others that, Owners of tertiary institutions be it federal, state, and private proprietors should ensure adequate and prompt payment of lecturers salary which will facilitate the quality of Business Education programme.
